This is Leah Bradley. She was one of the fabulous models I recruited for the recent Toronto Strobist Group event. She's quite interesting, visually and personally. I see an intriguing soul in her. Perhaps I will discover her more in the future.
From a recent shoot - theme was dance. We put Alena on a platform with a couple gelled speedlights underneath. Added the background and texture in post.
It pays to be aware of what's going on around the set, not just in front of the studio strobes. Sometimes environmental shots using ambient can add a different dimension.
This is a fine example of "floating" or "levitation" images. It involves multiple exposures using a tripod and using layer masks to remove unwanted details in the photos - like someone holding your legs up.
I love dance and ballet especially. Beauty, grace, technique, commitment. A perfect subject for photography.
